2017 1st INAS Para-Equestrian Video Competition (International)
September 1, 2017
Entry Details for US Athletes:
Inas is holding it’s first ever Para-Equestrian International Video Competition for athletes with intellectual and developmental disability this September. As the US Member of INAS, we are excited to launch the Athletes Without Limits National Equestrian Program to organize and assist US Equestrians interested in participating. Because this is a new event we recommend all interested athletes and/or their Equestrian coaches contact us for further discussion about Equestrian opportunities, coaching and the upcoming video competition.
Eligibility (Apply before August 1, 2017):
Athletes must meet the Inas criteria for intellectual and developmental disability and have a minimum of Inas Provisional-Level eligibility to enter. US Athletes who have not already done so should complete our Athlete Eligibility Application. The deadline to apply for Inas eligibility in time for this event is August 1st but we recommend sending your eligibility application as early as possible.
Dressage Test/Skills Required:
Eligible riders are expected to perform a test at the FEI Para-Equestrian Grade IV level (Download PDF) , which can be found on the FEI Para-Equestrian website. Equestrians interested in competing internationally who are riding independently at the walk, trot and canter and have reached proficiency in dressage OR an equestrian sport other than dressage should contact us immediately to develop a plan for transitioning into INAS dressage competition. (At the local, regional, and national levels, Athletes Without Limits Equestrian Program’s goal is to develop competitive opportunities for US equestrians that include a variety of disciplines and skill levels.)
Entry & Video Submission for US Athletes (Open June 18 – September 1, 2017):
On June 18, 2017, Athletes Without Limits will post an online entry form with details about how to enter and submit your video. Video Entries for US athletes will be due to Athletes Without Limits by September 1st so that they can be reviewed and officially submitted to Inas prior to the competition deadline of September 9th.
IMPORTANT: Please do not send your entry video directly to INAS via the Inas website link. The Inas entry link is for countries to submit their team’s videos and is not intended for individual athlete submissions. Athletes Without Limits will collect and submit all US videos and will submit them to Inas as the US Team.
