Meet Justin “Champion” Boatner
Justin came to an Athletes Without Limits "Learn to Row Day" with his Arlington County Schools special education class in 2012. He was very excited and enthusiastic about rowing. He asked a million questions about the boats, the ergs, equipment and technique. First and foremost was "when do I get to row my own boat on the water?!" The Athletes Without Limits (AWL) integrated rowing program made it possible for Justin to pursue that dream and much more.

Brannigan and Murray selected for US Paralympic Parapan Am Team
Track & Field phenom Mikey Brannigan was named High School Athlete of the Month by Sports Illustrated! Great video that recognizes how with the support of parents, siblings, coaches, schools and programs like Rolling Thunder athletes like Mikey can go beyond any limits.
Brannigan, who hails from New York, and Michael Murray from Tennessee, were named to the 2015 US Paralympic Team roster competing at the prestigious 2015 ParaPan Am Games in Toronto this August.
Both runners are medal contenders and will compete in the T20 class for athletes with intellectual impairment. ...
US Swimmers Win 26 Medals at the 2014 Guayaquil Para-Swimming Open
This November the Athletes Without Limits US Swim Team traveled to the Guayaquil Para-Swimming Open in Ecuador. Our swimmers won a total of 26 medals and broke 4 American records at the event. Congrats to the team and special thanks to Coaches Pat Thoreson and Barry Holman for heading up a successful trip.
US Women Dominate the Inas Tennis World Championships in France
The individual and doubles wins mark only the second time US athletes hold Inas World Titles since cyclist Syd Lea won at the 2011 Global Games.
Building on their Australian experience and a week-long training camp hosted by Wintergreen Resort, four US players traveled to Mont-de-Marsan, France for the Inas Tennis World Championships.
The US won the women's singles and women's doubles World Championship. The wins mark only the second sport in which US athletes have won an Inas World Championships since Syd Lea won in cycling at the 2011 Inas Global Games.

USA Team wins Bronze at Virtus (formerly Inas) Cross Country Worlds in Poland
Athletes Without Limits is proud to add to our Inas Worlds medal count following the bronze performance by our men's cross country team.  Team members include Steven Cuomo (NY), Syd Lea (MD), and Marcus Saunders (NY).  The 2014 World Cross Country and Half Marathon Championships took place this June in Ostrzeszów, Poland.

Just months after launching our tennis program to develop high performance tennis players with intellectual impairment, Athletes Without Limits took the first-ever US team to compete in the 17th Annual Australian Tennis Championships at the Australian Open. Brittany Tagliareni (Florida) placed third in women’s singles. She and partner Katherine Richards (Texas) captured third in women’s doubles while teammates Jon Fried (Virginia) and Ben Hadden (Ohio) also placed third in men’s doubles.

US Athletes Compete at 2014 Australian Open for First Time
Just months after launching our tennis program to develop high performance players with an intellectual disability, Athletes Without Limits entered four players from around the US in the 17th Australian Tennis Championships. The tournament is part of the Australian Open and 2014 marked the first year US players were invited to compete.
Brittany Tagliareni placed third in the women’s singles while the men’s and the women’s doubles each took third.
The players also competed in a US vs. AUS lawn tennis tournament, had private tours of the Melbourne Cricket Grounds ...
