EDGA Golf: G4D International Open (England)
May 14 - May 17
The G4D Open is an International Adaptive Golf event that is supported and approved by EDGA, the organization that manages World Ranking WR4GD passes for players with Physical, Visual and Intellectual impairments.
Now in it’s 2nd year the G4D Open is different from US Adaptive golf events in that it offers two competition groups for athletes with intellectual impairments so are open to athletes in any of the Virtus II-1, II-2 or II-3 groups as noted below:
- “Intellectual-1” is for players with Virtus II-1 Intellectual Disability or Virtus II-2 Down Syndrome with Intellectual Disability. This group includes athletes with Autism who also have Intellectual Disability (IQ of 75 or lower).
- “Intellectual-2” is for players in the Virtus II-3 group for Autism+ who don’t also meet the IQ and Adaptive criteria for Intellectual Disability (sometimes refereed to as ‘High Functioning Autism’).
There may be handicap and other requirements to enter. Please see the event website for details.
To be able to apply to EDGA for a WR4GD World Ranking Player Pass, new US Players (with Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome or Autism) should apply through USA Virtus member Athletes Without Limits from our eligibility application page.
