For the first time in a decade Paralympic Track & Field will be including a class for athletes with intellectual disability (called T20/F20) for the 1500m, shot put and long jump at the January 2011 IPC World Championships in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Athlete Without Limits’ Syd Lea Wins MABRA Cyclocross Series
Lea won 2 races and placed in the top 3 in several others (competing against non-disabled riders) to capture the 2009 MABRA Cat4 Men series title
While he has regularly placed in the top 10 in MABRA and other cyclocross events, 2009 marks his last season as a Cat 4 Cross racer — with two wins and several top 3 finishes he'll be required to move up to the Cat 3 race in 2010.

On November 21 a majority of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) membership decided in favor of the re-inclusion of athletes with an intellectual disability in competitions, including the Paralympics. Your support is needed to make sure the US votes "yes" to re-inclusion of athletes with intellectual disability into the Paralympics, including the London 2012 Games.

BBC Sport has provided news coverage of the re-inclusion (2009) of athletes with intellectual disability in Paralympic competition.
