Athletes Without Limits works with U.S. licensed psychologists who specialize in Autism and Intellectual Impairments to endorse completed U.S. eligibility applications. These are professional psychologists who dedicate what little free time they have helping athletes with intellectual impairment through the Virtus and Paralympic eligibility/classification process. Application endorsement by a National Eligibility Officer is a requirement for all Virtus member countries prior to submitting applications to the Virtus International Committee for International Eligibility confirmation.

Our current lead National Eligibility Officer is a Licensed Psychologist, and Pediatric Neuropsychologist who has volunteered time since 2017 to assist athletes by reviewing their applications to ensure they meet the Virtus & Paralympic criteria —  she also helps us identify qualified psychologists throughout the US when athletes have trouble finding someone in their area who can conduct the assessments needed for their eligibility. We couldn’t do this challenging work without this incredible support from the Psychology community!
