2027 Virtus Global Games Heads to Cairo, Egypt
Virtus has just announced that the prestigious seventh edition of the Global Games, scheduled for 2027, will be hosted in Cairo, Egypt!

Held every four years the Virtus Global Games is the World Championships for Athletes with Intellectual Impairment in 10+ summer sports. Following our 2023 US National Team trip to Vichy France, Athletes Without Limits will take US athletes to the 2027 Games. Details and exact dates will be posted as they are released by Virtus and the host country.
Past trips have included France (2023), Australia (2019), Ecuador (2015), Italy (2011) and the Czech Republic (2009).

Athletes Without Limits has posted US Team travel, dates and cost for our trip to the June 2023 Vitus Global Games in France and a US Team Registration Form to our team page at: https://www.athleteswithoutlimits.org/gg2023. The 2023 Games are on track to be the largest Virtus Global Games to date with an estimated 1,200+ top athletes with intellectual impairment from 80 countries competing for the World Championships in their respective sports.

JUNE Update: Unfortunately, this event has been cancelled by the organizers in Brazil. The economic situation world-wide has made it impossible for many other nations in the America's region to send teams this year. We thank the Brazilian organizers for trying to host this event and hope that in the future it can be held there. In the mean time we encourage athletes to explore the opportunities at the upcoming 2023 Virtus Global Games in France for which planning is well underway by the French organizers.

Athletes Without Limits US Team Trip to 2023 Virtus Global Games (France)
From June 2-11, 2023 more than one thousand of the best athletes from around the world will compete in the quadrennial Virtus Global Games, hosted in Vichy, France for seven days of elite multi-sport competition.
The Games is the World Championships for athletes with an intellectual impairment in the following sports: Basketball, Cycling, Equestrian (new), Futsal, Judo (new), Karate (new), Rowing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis and Track & Field/Athletics, with additional demonstration events.
